This was a risk, but the emo version of “Eleanor Rigby” was great. This kid is a rockstar.

Amazing. Just amazing.
She’s one of my favorites. I think what sets her apart is her sincerity. She’s really appreciating her luck in being there and it shows.

The Hysterics

Actually they are pure pop, as in great pop music. Cool tunes played on piano, bass, drums, and guitar. With more reverb and feedback it would be shoegaze at its best. That’s the only real complaint is that their demos lack production value and not in a good way. The band’s tight, the songs are cool, they just need some sheen to bring it to life.
Let’s face it though anyone who sites Lou Reed, The Libertines, and Chuck Berry has to be pretty hip.
You can check out their tunes on their MySpace page.
“Radical Chic” is pretty cool. Very Beatle-ish. They are definitely on a Brit-pop trip and that’s a good place to be as far as this website is concerned.
They also have a CD out, but I haven’t heard it yet.
